Analysis of an entrepreneurship programme at Wellington College shows students benefited across three different measures.

Pupils who took part in the Wellington Future Founders programme from 2024-2025 reported substantial increases in career orientation (up 16.7% from when they started the project), goal orientation (up 10.7%) and entrepreneurship (up 14.9%).

By the end of the programme, participating pupils reported average goal orientation of 4.31 out
of 5, which is 23.8% higher than the national average.

The figures were revealed in a study by Impact Ed, which measure the outcomes of educational programmes nationwide.

The statements that saw the largest increases included: “I have business ideas I am going to implement; I am able to estimate a budget for a new project; I am able to come up with new and different solutions; I am able to identify opportunities for new ways to conduct activities; I am able to evaluate a business idea.”

The Future Founders programme is running again this year, with seven students from WCSA schools and seven from Wellington College taking part.
