The Nutritionist’s Nightmare was the problem presented to Year 10 students at a Wheeler Day last week.

The puzzle was part of a biology lesson in which students had to identify nutrients in various solutions and decide which to give to each of a nutritionist’s patients.

They also had a chemistry lesson involving acids and marble,  a history lesson about democracy in Nazi Germany and played Real Tennis in the Wellington College court, one of only 27 in the UK.

The Wheeler Programme is a fully-funded programme for state school students within the Wellington College Student Alliance.

Twenty-four students are selected in Year 9 and the college helps support them until their graduation from the programme at the end of Year 13.

The programme includes a mixture of group activities, visits to workplaces, universities, organisations and people; talks, lectures, workshops and discussions; individual coaching, and tailored mentoring.
