Two students from Blessed Hugh Faringdon School have been chosen to take part in the Wheeler programme at Wellington College.
It is the first time pupils from the Reading school have been selected for the programme.
The boy and girl in Year 9 are among 24 successful applicants from 12 schools including Collingwood, The Holt, St Crispin’s, Tomlinscote and Winston Churchill.
Sue Parker, head of the Wheeler Programme, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming two students from Blessed Hugh Faringdon.
“We will see them and the other new Wheeler students at their first induction day in March and look forward to their week’s residential course in June.”
The Wheeler programme was founded by Nick Wheeler, owner of the Charles Tyrwhitt shirt company, and has been running since 2017.
During the five-year programme, students attend two residential courses at Wellington College and a number of study days and online sessions, all designed to complement the education they are already getting.
Earlier groups have also enjoyed adventures on the Wellington College high ropes course, visits to universities and businesses and a trip to Sky Studios.
All 28 schools in the Wellington College Student Alliance are invited to put pupils forward for the programme as well as being invited to other events including a maths day, STEM day, outdoor education days and Oxbridge events.
