The 5R’s of Enterprise were on the agenda at a joint Year 12 and 13 Wheeler Day this week.

The 48 students enjoyed a day of enterprise-related activities, including learning about how Relationships, Resourcefulness, Risk Taking, Resilience and Reflection have an impact on success.

They also played a trading game, where they had to negotiate with each other for resources, and looked at industry sectors and perks of the trade.

The Wheeler Programme is a fully-funded programme for state school students within the Wellington College Learning Alliance.

Twenty-four students are selected in Year 9 and the college helps support them until their graduation from the programme at the end of Year 13.

The programme includes a mixture of group activities, visits to workplaces, universities, organisations and people; talks, lectures, workshops and discussions; individual coaching, and tailored mentoring.
