Students at a WCLA school have been creating puzzle pieces using 3D printers donated by Wellington College.
Tomlinscote School took three printers offered to them by the WCLA when the college upgraded its 3D printer fleet.
Waingels, Garth Hill and Bulmershe schools took the remaining 13 printers, following the offer from Rob Winter, Head of Design, Engineering and Technology at Wellington College.
Since receiving the Creality Ender 3 V2’s, Tomlinscote has developed a Year 9 project that involves the students making a small interlocking puzzle which they create using On-shape and then 3D print them.
Technology head at Tomlinscote Iain Brotherton said: “They have also made a small sublimated printed textile bag to keep the pieces in. So far, it has been a very successful project that the students clearly enjoy. Having the additional printers means that we can print a whole class rapidly, which has been brilliant!”
