Could you donate a laptop, tablet or calculator you no longer need, in order to help a school pupil?

Wellington College Teaching Alliance wants to collect 150 devices to give out to children in local state schools.

It follows an earlier initiative, Donate for Education, launched in 2020 to help students access online learning  during the Covid pandemic.

The initiative was a huge success; WCTA received, re-purposed and donated over 300 laptops to students who did not own a PC or laptop.

Paul Jennings, Head of Educational Developments and Partnerships at Wellington College, said: “Following a number of recent requests from colleagues across our local schools, the WCTA team has decided run this incredible initiative once again.

“The project runs until Wednesday February 29, so now is the time to look in the cupboard and dig out that unused device. We are collecting non-Apple laptops and tablets, with their chargers, and scientific calculators.

“Every laptop donated will be wiped and refurbished before being passed on to a young person at one of our local schools.”

Devices can be delivered to the Porters Lodge at Wellington College in Dukes Ride, Crowthorne.
