Cookie cutters in the shape of palm trees and dinosaurs were created at a recent workshop for DET teachers.
The one-day event, run by Wellington College Teaching Alliance (WCTA), saw four teachers from three state schools spend a day picking up tips on how to use CAD to print keyrings and cookie cutters, using laser cutters to make phone stands and getting an introduction to electronics.
It was delivered by head of DET at Wellington College, Rob Winter, to staff from Blessed Hugh Faringdon, Winston Churchill and Tomlinscote.
Feedback from attendees included: “I had a brilliant day at Wellington College. It was informative, engaging and fun. Rob has a wealth of knowledge. ”
WCTA aims to facilitate collaboration between teachers and between schools and ensure they have training and development opportunities to enhance their students’ education.
This academic year, it has delivered courses including a two-day course on mental health first aid and a day for GCSE maths teachers, as well as a number of upskilling workshops and Subject Specific Support Groups.
