Wellington College Learning Alliance has had a record year, offering more than 4,200 days of engagement to students and 320 sessions to teachers in its partnership.

Both figures are the highest ever achieved by the alliance, which involves 28 state schools from the local area in both the Student Alliance and Teaching Alliance and a further five just in the TA.

The calendar of events for the Student Alliance included:

  • 14 outdoor days aimed at students struggling to engage with lessons
  • 6 Oxbridge information and interview preparation sessions
  • a medical applicants preparation day
  • a law applicants preparation day
  • a maths challenge day
  • six enterprise days
  • Women in Construction day
  • STEM Day for 150 students
  • Humanities Day for 110 students
  • 7 Wheeler Programme study days
  • Wheeler Programme residential for 47 students
  • Five Wellington Future Founders days
  • Three Lego engineering session held in partner schools
  • Economics revision day
  • Project Boost session for students struggling to engage with lessons

 

The Teaching Alliance calendar offered:

  • 13 different CPD courses
  • 5 Professional Learning Group meetings
  • Heads and Reps breakfast
  • Visits to partner schools to discuss their needs

 

Paul Jennings, Head of Educational Developments and Partnerships at Wellington College, said: “We have had a very busy year and I’m thrilled we have managed to offer such a broad range of opportunities to a record number of students and teachers.
